Taking photos and putting them on a web site isn’t an original idea. However:-
-
making the images easy to find through a database search facility; cataloguing images but event, series and track;
-
offering a range of image sizes that meet a range of different needs all for immediate download;
-
providing the facility to order photographic and canvas prints;
-
allowing you to select and distribute your own selection of images (Lightbox) and;
-
the facility to order posters custom made to your specification ...
... all from the same easy to use interface, is perhaps more than most sites offer.
Downloads
We offer 3 different version of digital image for each image on the site. All of the images are 300Dpi and in JPG format. The full size version of the image is suitable for glassy magazine full page reproduction, but are typically 3 to 4 megabytes in size. The 1500x1000press release version is still 300 dpi but thanks to its reduced size is typically 800kb in size which makes it ideal for e-mail and for news print. The 800 pixel web graphic is designed for web pages or keep sakes and is normally less the 200Kb in size, perfect for screen savers and computer screen wallpapers.
Search Facilities
The majority of images in the system can be by searching via key words. Enter A1GP in the search facility for example and the system will return all of the images we have taken at A1GP events. We also index the images by race track, series and event which can be selected from the expanding menu on the left of the screen. Alternatively drop us a line and we will send you a selection to choose from.
Competitors, Series Organisers and Publications
We have a solution to meet the needs of competitors, series organisers and publications alike and tailor our service to fit these specific needs. Over recent seasons we have followed individual competitors at single events and throughout a season. We have covered season long and individual events for series organisers or race teams with single or multiple cars so as to provide them with a depth of coverage they can use over the coming season; and we work for several different publications, creating images in keeping with the overall feel and style of that publication.
Getting the images out early
In a digital age speed is everything. Today’s front page image is tomorrow’s old news. We upload “urgent” images directly from the track to our web servers or send them directly to the customer. As to the other images from an event, we endeavour to make the majority available on the same day and complete all custom requirements within 24 hours. We can for example cover a race that finishes at 6pm and make the image available in time for the evening deadline.
At the end of each event we issue a lightbox of images to media outlets here and overseas. This highlights several images from an event and links back to our data driven web site from which outlets and search for the specific images they need.
Prints
Even with the speed and immediacy of the digital age, there is nothing quite the same as a high quality print of a favourite image. We supply a number of different size from 8x12 inches through to A2 (large poster size). As well as providing the images as traditional high quality photographic prints we can also supply the images printed on canvas and mounted over a solid wood frame so they are ready to hang.
Poster Print Files
There is effectively no limit to the creative design that can go in to a poster. However typically this is a few hours of design work starting with a base image, adding titles, sponsors logos and adjusting the image for affect. The price includes the base image you would like to use from our library and an allowance for the normal amount of work required to produce a customised poster image, but does not include printing as the cost of this varies with the number required. We work with you to create the poster that you want and then send you the finished poster as a image file you can take to the printers of your choice. Alternatively we can quote you for the printing and delivery to you.
